80/20 Endurance Coaching Certification
The latest journey begins!
This certification was originally planned to launch in March 2022. Like most plans, that didn’t go as planned. This is something I have been anxiously awaiting, and now it’s becoming a reality.
I started training using the 80/20 Endurance plans in 2019. The 10K plan helped me get my second best time EVER for the ORRRC Turkey Trot 5 Miler. I loved the concept and instantly connected with the process.
Then, in 2021, I got the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for the program. It has been my honor and privilege to be one of the inaugural ambassadors for the program. I get the chance to share my love for those program openly.
Now, I get the chance to work on giving back to the running community that has given me so much by becoming one of the inaugural 80/20 Endurance Coaches.
Stay tuned as I share more about this new journey in the coming months.
Planning for 2023
What do I do?
I usually know exactly what I want to do for the next year by this point in the year. This year is different.
I already have the first half of 2023 pretty much locked in thanks to a huge case of FOMO after the 2022 Flying Pig. I locked myself into the 4 way challenge for the 25th anniversary.😁
It’s what comes after that that I am so unsure of. Historically, I go for a fall marathon. Also historically, I fall apart in the summer heat.
You get the same results if you do what you’ve always done.
I am tired of reliving the very definition of insanity. The question for me is do I recommit or face the music and do something smaller?!?!
I honestly don’t know what I want to do. I originally planned for a 50 mile attempt for my 50th trip around the sun. Now, I’m not sure I care.
I could also look to level up with Half Fanatics. I honestly don’t know what I want
The good news is I have plenty of time to decide. I don’t need to rush it.
I think I’ll take my time and intentionally focus on the current cycle and not worry about the back half of 2023 so much for at least a few more months
Take care and be blessed.
New Adveture
Now that Flying Pig 2022 is done, it’s time to move on to Air Force
I started this running journey 10 years ago. Nine years ago I ran my very 1st Marathon at the Air Force. in 2014, I ran my first triple header (later to officially become the Fly Fight Win Challenge) at the Air Force. I always said I wanted to come back once it became official.

2022 Flying Pig Marathon
Race Morning
I do love the Flying Pig. What I don’t love is that early morning wake up call. 🤣 The morning starts at 3;00 AM or as I call it…o’Dark Thirty. Between the anxiety of race morning and the fear of missing the alarm clock, I usually don’t sleep too well.
I planned ahead and had everything laid out Saturday night and ready to go on Sunday. It worked very well. Things went very smoothly.
Well, there was one glitch. The 500 mL HydroPak soft flask of Tailwind had a couple small pin holes. I transferred the contents to a water bottle and left the contents in the refrigerator. It would make a nice recovery drink.
I was up and out the door by 3:45 and heading to Cincinnati. The drive actually went very well as well. The traffic was light and no problems whatsoever.

Countdown to The Pig
Flying Pig 2022 is Almost Here
It’s been an arduous road leading to this year’s Flying Pig. I haven’t been back to Cincinnati since 2018 when I started my bid for Marathon Maniacs with a run at the pig.

Friday I shared with you my opinion of the Crafted Energy Climber Bar. Today I want to talk about the second bar I ate on the Friday, March 18, long run
I won this bar on the Friday Freebie of The Feed as well. I was excited to give it a whirl.

I won this bar and the Runner bar (Review coming later) a few weeks back during Friday Freebies on The Feed. I had never heard of the company or the bar and was excited to give it a try.
